 ProGuard Custom Fit Shooters and Marksman's Earplugs come in clear transluctent non-allergenic soft medical-grade silicon and fitted with the excellent Hocks Noise Braker® filter as standard, the patented technology will provide smart hearing protection and safeguard your ears from noise induced hearing loss. This unique filter will convert any loud noise to a safe listening level of 80-85 dB, simply done without the aid of electronics and other moving parts that could eventually fail. These exceptional ear plugs will block dangerous sounds, yet still allow you to hear safe sounds and carry out a normal conversation, making them an excellent choice for sporting use.
The principle employed within the Hocks Noise Braker® Filter is known as Accelerated Resonant Decay, this small filter will convert sonic sound energy into thermal energy by means of compression acceleration. There will be a small temperture rise within the filter when this is happening but it really is so small it is undetactable and will not cause any discomfort.
 Putting the Accelerated Resonant Decay principle into far simpler terms, the Noise Braker® will actually bounce a segment of the dangerous part of the incoming noise back out of your ear which in turn will cancel out the incoming noise, thereby reducing it to a safe listening level. The bigger the intensity of the incoming sound wave, the more of it that just gets automatically cancelled out. As a result, no sound over approximately 85 decibels is allowed to pass through the filter into your ear!
It sounds good on paper and yes it really does work.
ProGuard recognise the importance of individual hearing products, we will simplify every stage of getting your own custom fit products made. Of course each product in the range will require impressions of your ears. The process is completely painless and will take no longer than 15 minutes. If you want to get a full understanding of the process where it is fully explained, go to the audiology section on this site. Because we offer a straight out of the box solution, arrangements will be made for impressions to be taken of your ears at one of our locations nationally. Once this procedure has been carried out, you just need to send them back to us in the pre-paid box supplied and in approximately 14 days your own Custom Fit hearing product will arrive at your doorstep.
